Supervising Youth Development Practice (HEO0117): This 30-hour online course is designed to provide Supervisory Staff with youth development principles associated with the Advancing Youth Development (AYD) training. Individuals will become familiar with strategies to supervise youth development practice as well as identify necessary youth worker competencies that support healthy youth development. Supervisory Staff will: (1) Identify key concepts in AYD curriculum (2) Use strategies for supervising youth development practice (3) Integrate a facilitative approach into their supervision of youth workers (4) Use the youth development approach to strengthen their programs and organizations.

Application of Advancing Youth Development Principles (HEO0150): This 12-hour course is designed for individuals who have previously completed Part II-Foundations of Advancing Youth Development Principles (HEV0804). Participants will develop strategies and material files related to the programs and students they engage on a day to day basis. This course is ideal for Youth Workers, Counselors, Supervisors, Directors and Front Line Personnel who work with children in Afterschool Programs. This course meets annual In-Service requirement. Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Education Standards/VPK (HEO0181): This 3-hour training will provide VPK teachers and directors with an overview of the 2008 VPK Educational Standards and describe ways to incorporate the VPK Standards in the classroom. The workshop is free and includes the VPK Standards Book which will be given out the day of class to all paticipants who are registered through the DCF website. All participants must be registered in order to attend and will receive .3 Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
