Mortgage Broker Continuing Education

Corporate and Continuing Education (CCE) at Palm Beach Community College is pleased to offer several continuing education courses designed to help professionals renew their certification or license, increase their work skills or help them enter a new field.

The Mortgage Broker 24-hour class is a pre-licensing course, required by the state, offered on Saturdays. The course helps you prepare for the state exam. Students must attend all 24 hours (no tardiness, leaving early or absences are allowed). Students will learn state and federal mortgage broker laws, mortgage principles, rules and regulations, and primary and subordinate financing transactions. After earning your state license, students can become an associate for either a licensed mortgage broker business or any lender license under Chapter 494 F.S.

As a licensed broker, you are authorized to solicit mortgage loans on behalf of a borrower, accept applications, and negotiate terms and conditions of a mortgage loan on behalf of a lender. Textbooks required. Attendance for the full 24 hours of this course is required to qualify for the state exam.
