The Library Learning Resource Center (LLRC) staff strives to provide an atmosphere conducive to the appropriate use of its materials, services and facilities. To accomplish this goal, the Code of Conduct has been established for the LLRC. This Code of Conduct may be used in addition to the applicability of all Palm Beach State policies and procedures. This Code of Conduct consists of the following rules:
-
As they enter the LLRC, students must swipe their Panther card at the sign-in computer.
-
The LLRC staff may ask any patrons, at any given time, to show their IDs.
-
Eating and drinking are prohibited in the LLRC. Any waste from food or drink of any items should be disposed of in the designated areas outside of the LLRC.
-
Any person who is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or any illegal substance will be asked to leave the LLRC immediately.
-
The staff is not responsible for personal belongings or any property left in the LLRC. The LLRC staff reserves the right to inspect all bags, purses, brief cases, and the like.
-
Loud noise is prohibited in the LLRC. Persons who are loud, using profanity, disruptive, or acting in a disorderly manner will be asked to leave the LLRC.
-
The use of cellular phones or any other devices that issue sounds is prohibited in the LLRC.
-
Inappropriate dress or offensive appearance are not accepted in the LLRC.
-
Unless they are Palm Beach State students, children under the age of 16 are not allowed in the LLRC.
-
Community members are welcomed to use the LLRC complimentary. As soon as they arrive, they need to register at the reference desk using a valid driver license, state ID, or passport. While they are welcomed to review materials inside the LLRC, community members cannot check out materials. Community members may use two designated PCs for a maximum of half an hour per day. Community members may be asked to leave any equipment or materials, or move from a location or to leave the LLRC, when needed by Palm Beach State students or suggested by LLRC staff.
-
Persons who do not adhere to the above rules or any of The College's policies and procedures will be asked to leave the LLRC immediately.
