STUDENT CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS
Student Government Association (SGA): The Student Government Association (SGA) served as the official student voice to the administration, the Board of Regent, and legislative. Our mission is to earnestly represent the interests of the students by increasing student’s decision-making power, improving campus life through the creation and continuation of viable and effective student service preserving and protesting the traditions of the College supporting students in their academic and community endeavors. To this end, new leaders are elected from and by the general student’s populace each year, and meetings are held to discuss issues and initiate projects.
Black Student Union (BSU): The purpose of the club is to increase the awareness of black Heritages as it relates to the past, present and future. Membership is open to all students regardless of race, color, sex or creed.
Dream it Do it Club: The Purpose of this club is to provide a place where nontraditional participants students ages 25 and up can meet, exchange helpful ideas, encourage, and support each other as they move towards accomplishing their educational goals. Community volunteer efforts will also be an important part of the club’s activities.
International Student Club: The International Student Club seeks to provide a common ground of understanding between individuals of various origins through social, cultural and educational activities. The club also provides students with the opportunity to participate in organized volunteer activities providing service to individuals, families, agencies and the community. All students are welcome to join the ISC.
Kiskeya: Kiskeya’s main objectives are to preserve the Haitian culture and to promote awareness to the college community by means of cultural events. All students are invited to become a part of the Kiskeya Club.
Nursing Student Association (NSA): Beginning a professional Nursing career at PBCC? Our slogan is: Expect More, Expect the Best Nursing Education at PBCC. This organization provides opportunities to participate in local community, state and national activities within the nursing profession. Phi Theta Kappa (PTK): Phi theta Kappa (PTK) is an international organization that recognizes and encourages scholarship among 1,100 community colleges. The Alpha Delta Nu Chapter at this campus provides opportunity for the development of leadership, scholarship and service. It awards numerous scholarships to its members and sponsors All-USA and All-State Academic Teams. To be eligible for membership, a student must have completed 12 credit hours at PBCC, have a 3.2 GPA, and be currently enrolled. Membership is a highly converted honor which will enrich your life while you attend PBCC and also remain with you as you pursue your further educational or career goals.
Spanish and Latino Student Association (SALSA): The Spanish and Latino Student Association (SALSA) seeks to increase the awareness of Spanish Heritage, promote fellowship, and develop a sense of inclusion in our college campus and community through on-campus and community events.
Cosmetology Club: This club is organized to help our cosmetology students explore career options, gain advance knowledge (products and skills), and discover networking opportunities in and out of their communities. The will also expose our programs and services to the communities.
Save Our Sons. (S.O.S.): The purpose of this group is to increase the retention, participation and graduation rate of black and Hispanic males who attend Palm Beach Community College. (PBCC). Note: The S.O.S. group does not hold the designation of a club.
Student Unity Promotion (S.U.P.): The Student Unity Promotion (S.U.P.) objective is to support the growth and development of the Belle Glades campus which unites the community.
The Sahara Club: The purpose of The Sahara Club is to explore and discuss the Middle Eastern culture and traditions. The club will also educate and enrich the community and the college campus in regards to the Middle Eastern values. Membership is available to anyone regardless of race, color, sex religion or national origin.
Sisters on the Serious Side (SOSS): The objective of Sisters on the Serious Side is to promote “unity” and “sisterhood” to young ladies from various cultures. The club will promote academic excellence, positive leadership and community involvement. Sisters on Serious Side will embrace diversity and nurture the future female leaders of tomorrow.
