Palm Beach Community College is becoming Palm Beach State College!
This is an exciting and historic time for the College community, as we gear up for the new name implementation and the formal unveiling of new brand identity elements in January 2010. In the meantime, the guidelines below are provided for use during the transition period from September through December, 2009.
A new transition tagline has been added to the current College logo to announce the coming of the new name. Please use this transitional logo on all College communications.
As always, the name, logo, marks and images of Palm Beach Community College cannot be used to imply or suggest endorsement of any product or service not provided by the College.
Individuals and organizations outside of the College who wish to use any of these logos must first obtain written permission by contacting College Relations and Marketing at (561) 868-3122 or crmarket@pbcc.edu.
New flyer templates with the transitional logo are available NOW!
Transitional logo for use from September through December 2009: The following logo choices are now in effect. Please use these on your flyers, Web pages, e-mails, PowerPoint's, etc. PowerPoint backgrounds have been developed for your use and are available through MTIS .
PBCC Transitional Logo (click on the image for color options)

Transitional Panther Mascot The panther mascot is restricted for use in Athletics, Student Activities or promotional items such as T-shirts, caps and notebooks. Only the official mascot image should be used. The mascot is not appropriate to use in lieu of the official logo on college materials such as program brochures, letterhead, business cards, etc.

PBCC Seal

The seal is to be used for official and ceremonial documents only (College flag, diplomas, certificates, transcripts).
PBCC Slogan

The official slogan for PBCC is "Expect more." As a slogan, it should be used intact. In the body copy of a document, it can be expanded. For example, "Expect more personal attention," "Expect more learning options." The slogan does not have to be attached to the logo. The preferred font for the slogan is Garamond.
GRAPHIC STANDARDS All forms, flyers, brochures, letterhead, business cards, fax sheets, multimedia materials, promotional materials and other external communications materials must be submitted to CRM for review and approval before printing. Please plan for a minimum of 5 working days for CRM to complete the review process. Instructional materials are exempt.
Leave the logo intact The full College name is contained below and within the length of the logotype (pbcc letters) in black. The logo is a cohesive unit and cannot be taken apart, i.e., the custom logotype must always be accompanied by the swath.
The PBCC logo is to be reproduced from authorized originals only (from CRM) and is not to be reproportioned (stretched, extended, condensed), redrawn or modified in any way (no borders or shapes surrounding the logo). After downloading the logo and moving it into Microsoft Word, be sure to hold the shift key down when resizing the logo to keep the same proportions.
On printed materials, place the logo flush right. It is right-hand balanced and works best flush right at either the top or bottom of a printed page. When possible, leave 1/2" white space or buffer zone around the logo.
List PBCC locations as elements separate from the logo. PBCC is one college, so it is preferable that all four locations be listed. If one location must be listed, the location should be placed separately from the logo. The proper listing for specific locations should be "PBCC at Palm Beach Gardens," "PBCC at Belle Glade," etc.
Use on official letterhead, envelopes and business cards. These items have been standardized to provide a consistent College identity. They can be ordered from Graphics Communications. NOTE: Cards will not be issued with the new name until January 2010.
The approved, official letterhead can be printed in color or black and white. Black and white copies of the color letterhead (with the College logo in color) is unacceptable. The gold swath appears gray and this lessens the logo's graphic integrity. Please use the solid black letterhead if copies are to be distributed. This way the logo will appear all black.
Departments are urged to use the official letterhead of the College, especially for any external distribution.
