Procedures and Eligibility

1. A Work-Study Award is allocated to students who have need which is determined according to the results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students must show a financial need over and above the resources they have available to meet educational expenses.

2. A student must be enrolled and attending at least part-time for a regular semester. If a student withdraws from all classes, he/she is no longer eligible for student employment.

3. A student must be a United States citizen or a permanent resident alien.

4. During the fall and spring terms, the student must be continuously enrolled in at least six (6) credits to participate in Work-Study.

5. The student must meet the Standards of Academic Progress (SAP) for Financial Aid in order to be eligible to continue working. Students on academic probation will not be permitted to receive Federal Work-Study.

6. Work-Study is funded through Financial Aid. However, the student will report directly to the department where the student is placed. If the student is late to work, unable to work due to illness, or have any difficulties in the position, the student must notify his/her supervisor.

7. The rules and procedures, which a student will receive upon being hired, must be followed to maintain his/her Financial Aid Work-Study benefit.

8. A Work-Study application must be submitted to the Financial Aid Office on the campus where the student wishes to be employed.
